Cinco de B

Remember that one time? At the hospital? When you stole me and gave me a super snuggle?

A letter to Aunt B:
I hope you have a great birthday. I want to say ‘thank you’ for being such a fantastic aunt. And for helping so much on my birth day. Seriously, mom was freaking out.
Remember when you drove down here early because you thought I was coming? Ha! I sure showed you. I wasn’t ready to be born quite yet. By the way, I have a bone to pick with you … Did you really think you could get me to come any sooner by walking the hallways at the hospital for hours with my mom? Doubt it. But, I’ve forgiven you after how you helped with the whole breastfeeding thing. No way mom would have made it without you! She was all “ouch, that can’t be normal?!” and “what the what do I do with this breast pump?!?” Trust me. We are all grateful you helped her so much.
And don’t get me started on your “conference call” that you make every morning. I have no idea what y’all are talking about half the time. But, it makes her happy. And if momma is happy everybody happy.
I can’t wait for another snuggle with you. There’s a stiff competition for best aunt between you and Aunt Lolly … But since it’s your birthday I’ll let you win today.
Love you,
Wilder

About Amanda Jean Elliott

I am a joyful believer in Jesus Christ, a mother, a sister, a writer, a maker of gluten free roux and a style editor. I love my son Wilder and the wild life that comes with a 4-year-old who has the energy of a pack of wolves. I also love naps (a lot). I love to cook and create my favorite dishes without gluten not because I'm trendy and anti-gluten so much as it makes me feel like I've been run over by a pack of wolves. I teach 5th and 6th grade girls Sunday School and have a classroom of the greatest girls I could imagine. Girls who often teach me more than I teach them. I believe these girls and many others are the spark to start a fire for The Lord the likes of which this world has never seen. I see more and more girls learning about more than just who God is ... but, learning about who God says THEY are. It is my prayer for every woman to know without doubt that we have a good good Father in heaven and whatever is not right on this earth, He will make right in this life or the next.
